WOW, what a book! As you're reading you put yourself in the characters, and it’s almost like you were there at that time and place and you feel what they are feeling. I would highly recommend this book, and give credit to the author, Patricia Davids, for a wonderful book. It's one of my favorites.

This is a truly wonderful story about a young woman who found her way back to God and her Amish roots and in doing so found love, too. And I LOVED this book. It gives the reader a powerfully poignant look into the world of the Amish- and Katie and Elam have the same difficult conflicts around faith and love that we all can relate to as Christians in today's world. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a great read. I can't wait for the other books in the series and only wish they were out sooner!

I loved this book dearly. As I told the author, I was late from my breaks at work because I could not put it down. I kept getting lost in it.

This was a very interesting book and one I couldn't put down. We all face struggles in our lives and find it hard to trust people when we've been hurt. We can relate to Katie trying to find a place to call home and just fit in. I would recommend this book for everyone to read. It makes you angry, sad , you cry with her but at the im=n you feel all warm inside. Please pick up a copy and read it and enjoy it.

A Family for ThanksgivingA Family for Thanksgiving

A wonderful read for those relaxing evenings by the fireplace. Davids packs faith, forgiveness, love, and family into this story. I loved all the characters, as well as the plot. Davids writes about a rekindled love, a little girl in need of a family after being orphaned during a twister, and a torn apart by that twister. As I read this book, I found myself wishing it wouldn't end. I could feel God moving through the pages as He guided the characters. After the book ended, and I said goodbye (though I didn't want to!) to the characters, I knew the message that Davids wove between the lines of this amazing story. The meaning of family and what it truly means to be thankful. I know what I'm thankful for.....do you??? Five stars and two thumbs, definitely!!! *This book was purchased by me for my own collection*

Speed TrapSpeed Trap

When Judy Bowen dies in a car wreck, suspicion falls on her ex-husband, Garrett. Sheriff Mandy Scott, who rescued Judy's 4 month old son, Colin, from the burning car, believes Garrett is innocent, but she's reluctant to exonerate him completely. It turns out that Garrett may be Colin's father, and although he's urged to place him up for adoption, he's not sure he wants
to give up a baby who might be his. As Mandy hunts for a murderer, she also falls in love, not only with Colin, but with Garrett as well. Davids' fine mystery focuses more on relationships than suspense, but readers won't mind.

A Cloud of SuspicionA Cloud of Suspicion

Don't miss this excellent read. A Cloud of Suspicion is written with such vivid clarity, that I was happily lost in its edge-of your-seat yet tender romantic suspense. Patricia's heroine and hero, Shelby and Patrick, are so real and their dilemmas so well suited to who they are, that I found myself totally enthralled.

Be enthralled by A Cloud of Suspicion, then get ready for her next romantic suspense, Speed Trap, to be released in September 2009 by Love Inspired Suspense.

A Matter of the HeartA Matter of the Heart

Nora Blake, an amazing pediatric surgeon for children with heart defects, is being hounded by reporter Rob Dale, who's delving into her life for a story about the sick little boy she's operating on. They clash, and with good reason in Patricia Davids' deeply touching story. Davids reveals why Nora's work is so dear to her, and why Rob is determined to get all of the facts, no matter how hard the fight with Nora is. Each has secrets, but the emotional attachment these two share is clearly evident. With its even pacing, A Matter of the Heart (4) is a touching and wonderful story that's not to be missed.

Even though Annie Delmar is three months pregnant with U.S. Army Corporal Shane Ross' child, after a one-night stand, she doesn't think they have a future together. But Shane is determined to be a part of their baby's life -- and Annie's. Both Annie and Shane share a special fondness for each other that makes Military Daddy (4) a lovingly sweet romance. This story deftly and evenly covers many subjects, including alcoholism. Kudos to Patricia Davids.

As with all Love Inspired novels, Prodigal Daughter by Patricia Davids is a short novel with a message, but unlike all of this line’s novels, Davids has a way of captivating all of my attention with her stories. In a second read through I attempted to discover the novelist’s secret. Whether it’s her realistic dialogue, or varying and layered characters, or ability to paint her scenery with minimal words, or the weaving of interesting subplots and conflicts throughout, I couldn’t decide. Most likely, it’s a combination of all of these elements and more.

This happily ever after is more than an inspirational romance, it’s a gentle reminder of what a family should be. Davids’ writing is smooth and enticing and well worth a second look. After enjoying
Prodigal Daughter, watch for her next novel to be released this summer, or pick up a copy of Davids first novels, His Bundle of Love or Love Thine Enemy (both published by Steeple Hill, Love Inspired).

Cheryl Steele started out life as Cheryl Thatcher but that name (not to mention life) didn’t work out too well for her. The Tatchers had a horrible reputation in their small town in Kansas and getting to move to New York with relatives after her mother’s death was a saving grace for Cheryl. She discovered the world of ballet and culture and just plain being happy. So, with her new life she took a new name.

She struggled with attending her dear sister’s wedding in Kansas but since her ballet company was performing in Kansas at the same time it was just too hard to say no. Things were tough enough emotionally with just being in Kansas until a late snow storm caught her unawares on her drive back to meet her company (also resulting in a broken ankle). She is stuck on a country road outside of the town she had prayed to never see again - - in fact just outside the farm of belonging to the family of the principal who had made her life a nightmare. The only thing left to do at this point was to pray that no one recognized her until the roads are cleared enough and her ankle healed enough that she can clear out.

Sam Hardin (the son of the principal) just happens to run the farm now and he doesn’t recognize her. Quite frankly he is happy to have her there because he is dealing with two young, energetic twin girls while trying to run a farm and make it profitable along with attempting to still maintain some architectural business. You see he is an architect by trade but came home to run the family farm after his dad died. Things are getting a little out of hand. What was supposed to be a very short lived, convenient deal, however, is turning into something much more complicated.

I truly enjoyed
Love Thine Enemy. Patricia took a woman and a man, each with some very deep seated fears, and through God’s love showed them there was more to life. We are our past and we have to live the hand we have been dealt but learning to live with that in a way that lifts us up instead of down can be quite trying. Cheryl was spending so much time living in fear of being discovered that it colored everything she did and felt. Sam spent so much time being afraid to love another woman that he was closing off and withdrawing just a bit too much.

God often times has a wonderful sense of humor and it is showcased in
Love Thine Enemy.

Once Upon a Romance

His Bundle of LoveHis Bundle of Love

Firefighter Mick O'Callaghan steps in to help a homeless woman in labor. After giving birth to a premature baby, Caitlin Williams suffers an embolism and goes into a coma -- but not before naming Mick as the father. Mick is puzzled, but when the baby needs an emergency medical procedure, he signs paternity papers. Caitlin eventually recovers and doesn't remember anything about the birth. Can they find common ground for the sake of the baby? His Bundle of Love (3), by Patricia Davids, has interesting information about illiteracy and prematurity. But the romance angle feels contrived, and the ending is quite abrupt.
